OUR POLICY

SUSTAINABILITY POLICY

THE ARTISTRY is about bringing together inspired thinkers, creators, and innovators from across the globe to share their ideas and achieve their goals. It is vitally important to us to ensure that we are leading by example in sustainable innovation and are implementing sustainable practices across our event, to minimise our carbon footprint and contribute to a positive change.

We are committed to limiting the type of materials brought into and used at our events, by reducing single use plastics and purchasing sustainable and ethical products and services wherever possible.

THE ARTISTRY prioritise suppliers that demonstrate a commitment to sustainability and operate in an environmentally responsible manner. Key factors we take into consideration and encourage any brand who affiliates with THE ARTISTRY to consider are:

  • Use of environmentally friendly materials

  • Use of renewable energy

  • Location (minimising transport)

  • Sustainability policies

  • Waste management policies

  • Reuse/hire vs one off custom

THE ARTISTRY consults with venue owners, and operators to continually work on plans to improve sustainability within their venues.

We are also very conscious of the long-term social impact that the event can have on the communities and individuals involved.

We emphasise social sustainability and believe that THE ARTISTRY can help build stronger and more connected communities, promote social justice and equality, and contribute to a more sustainable and equitable creative industry overall.

Our commitment to sustainability will not only benefit the environment and local communities, but also creates a more positive experience for our attendees, partners, staff, and stakeholders.

THE ARTISTRY sustainability policy aims to reduce our impact on our environment by, but not limited to:

Reducing waste sent to landfill

  • Substituting single use plastics for certified compostable and reusable alternatives where possible

  • Providing recycling and composting stations throughout the event precinct, and educating attendees and staff on how to use these facilities efficiently

  • Using environmentally friendly suppliers who use recyclable materials

  • Encouraging patrons to bring reusable water bottles and keep cups and providing free water refill stations throughout the precinct

  • Can and bottle collection points

Reduce our carbon footprint

  • Encouraging attendees to offset their travel emissions through a reputable carbon offset program

  • Creating a walkable precinct

  • Providing free shuttle bus services and encouraging attendees to use public transport where possible

  • Use of Renewable energy

Reducing the impact on our community

  • Acknowledging and respecting the Country and traditional landowners of where our event is held

  • Creating an accessible, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all attendees

  • Promoting diversity and representation in the lineups, programming, and ensuring fair and ethical practices in all aspects of event planning and execution.

To ensure our commitment to sustainability is upheld, THE ARTISTRY will build a team made up of key representatives from key venues, landowners, and suppliers to manage sustainability throughout the event and ensure policies are being adhered to.

We recognize that sustainability is an ongoing process, and we are committed to continually improving our sustainability practices. We are committed to reviewing and updating our sustainability policy annually, to ensure that it remains relevant and effective.
